Secondary School Airbrush Programs – South Australian Region

Airbrush Venturi offers secondary schools a diverse range of programs, from
One Day Intensive programs through to a year long VET Cert II program.

One Day Beginners Airbrush Course:

Airbrush Venturi has mobile airbrush kits in a small fleet of vans in most capital cities (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide).  We bring the classroom to your school.

Airbrush Venturi has solved all the problems usually associated with offering airbrush training in secondary schools. You won’t need a kit of airbrushes for each student with a large industrial compressor, airlines, holders, stencils, notes, inks (non toxic – non overspray inks), cleaning equipment, etc. You will have to maintain the airbrushes, repair them when the students damage them, and do the same for the compressor, couplings, etc.  We do all this for you.

You won’t need a proven training program, that teaches how to use the equipment and materials safely and with confidence. You won’t need a program that has immediate application for their studies. We do all this for you.  The program covers all the cleaning and maintenance issues, so that they can continue their airbrushing at home.

Course Outcomes:
• Student will learn to set up and operate the airbrush equipment safely
• Students will use the airbrush in conjunction with 3D textures
• Students will airbrush 3D shapes (cubes, cylinders, cones , spheres)
• Students will work with simple and effective stencil techniques
• Students will use the airbrush to create a product rendering of a “lamp”
• Students will experiment with a range of different masking materials
• Students will build a folio of their artworks
• Students receive instructions on how to continue airbrushing with their studies
• Students learn how to clean and maintain their airbrush correctly

• Most importantly, students are shown how to be spontaneous and creative with the airbrush and able to apply the airbrush outside of traditional techniques.
Note:   The course outcomes are clearly illustrated in the download pdf

You won’t need to coordinate a supplier to provide airbrushes and inks for the students to take home so they can use the airbrush for their studies. We do all that for you.

Classroom Requirements:
All we need is a standard classroom with power and water. We take care of everything else. We supply all the airbrushes. We bring the compressor, all the materials (including a special airbrush ink that is completely non toxic and does not create overspray that floats in the air). We supply notes and pockets for the students to build a small folio of their artworks and instructions on how to use their new skills to airbrush at home and do school projects.

Most significantly, students get to keep the airbrush and a set of inks.  As long as they have any old compressor out in the shed or garage, they are all set to go.  This means that students will be able to integrate the use of the airbrush into their art and design studies like never before.

The $85.00 per head fee includes, the full days training, all equipment and materials, notes pockets, everything.

VET Certificate II in Airbrushing:
Airbrush Venturi is the first education organisation to invest the time, money and effort to develop a nationally recognised industry backed, airbrush course . . . with the development of the Certificate II in Airbrushing.

This course is now SACE recognised for Year 10, 11 and 12 students.

One of the most unique features of this course, is that students complete the programs in unit blocks concurrent with school terms.  This means that there are students at different levels in the classroom, with some students beginning their first unit, while others will be half way through and some finishing off their final units.

This gives schools the flexibility to have students come and go as circumstances permit, term by term, saving the schools significant income if students elect to not continue on and complete the full VET course.

FLO System:
Students that are enrolled in the FLO program are ideally suited to this course and its structure.  The flexibility of the course, term by term will give students the chance to try out the first unit and then if they wish, go on and complete the full VET course.

Course Structure:
All units must be completed in the following order to achieve the full Cert. II certificate.

Single Term Period:
• VBP826 – Apply fundamental skills and structures of airbrushing

Variable “Contact Hours” structure:
There is one inherent issue with offering this course on a flexibile format . . . that terms 1 and 4 of each school year are shorter due to the allowable VET program days, than terms 2 and 3 and can only allow for roughly 40 contact hours, whereas terms 2 and 3 can allow for up to 60 contact hours.

We have been careful to develop term by term course structures that allow for the full completion of the required units, but with variable extensions to ensure students get the full use of every term.
